[Review] Suamiku Encik Perfect 10!

Suamiku Encik Perfect 10! (Translation: My Husband Mr. Perfect 10!), is a Malaysian movie adapted from a novel named as it is. I am not a movie critique expert so don’t expect an intelligent review but really just a review from a lady that have watched the movie once, that have not read the novel yet and sooooo not interested in romantic-idealistic movie.

The casts were amazing. They are:
Lisa Surihani as Aleeya Azmeen
Aaron Aziz as Zarief Danial
Syazwan Zulkipli as Syed Muzaffar
Raja Ilya as Azura
Jehan Miskin as Akram
Jasmin Hamid as Yazmeen (Aleeya’s Mother)
Normah Damanhuri as Mak Tuk

The storyline was uber unrealistic and complicated. As a start, a Malaysian female student, Aleeya Azmeen got pregnant, raped by her own boyfriend, Syed Muzaffar when they studied together in London. Muzaffar disappears all of a sudden; Aleeya panicked and didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know how to face her strict mother. She phoned her mother, told her that she’s married and is pregnant. Aleeya finally decided to leave her study and go back to Malaysia even though she is afraid to do so.

In an airplane, going from London to Malaysia, she met a guy named Zarief Danial. A guy engaged to Azura. Oh man, I don’t want to talk about Azura, that-crazy-fiancĂ©e-who-cheated-and-got-pregnant-too but not by Zarief, but by her romantic affair, Akram, who helped her in doing her evil stuff.

Anyways, Zarief decided to help Aleeya and pretended to be her husband for a week. There were a lot of funny scenes in the beginning but one week has passed and the fun ended. Why? Because they both started to fall in love with each other but Syed Muzaffar and Azura came into the picture. (Technically, it was Zarief that came into Aleeya’s life and vice versa).

[SPOILER ALERT] In the end, Aleeya and Syed Muzaffar got married. HAHA. I’m not kidding. The only good thing was Zarief never married to Azura because people found out about her pregnancy and I don’t care about her ending.

This story has so many plot twists lah so I think it’s better for you to watch it in order to understand more about the movie.

Those who love romantic movie would totally love Suamiku Encik Perfect 10!, but for an action movie goers like myself, I felt sleepy afterwards and walked out of the cinema speechless, super tired of the complicated drama going on.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie and totally loving the casts. They did a great job and no wonder this movie achieved the best Box Office Movie in Malaysia last week.

Now go to your nearest cinema and fall in love with Mr. Perfect 10. In Brunei there is only one cinema showing this movie though. So you can head to Mall Cineplex Gadong or you can book your tickets online at www.themallcineplex.com

Ps. Yes, I do realize that I don’t possess the quality to be a good movie critique but it’s worth a try haha *Insert laugh with tears emoticon*

The Famous Invisible Boyfriend

Have you heard about this app: Invisible Boyfriend?

Like whaaaaatttt.

How can this thing exist? How you might ask? This is what technology has done to people. You can have imaginary boyfriend now. No. Not imaginary but real strangers that you can design to be your perfect boyfriend. He would text you, call you and probably send you love letters for only $25 per month.

This is ridiculous. The creator said that “just don’t go falling for the guy”, he has no intention to convince people that they are in a real relationship with the stranger(s) from the app. #whaaaatt

Dear creator, have you done research about human’s feelings? Human can develop feelings of love over anything you know! Then, how do you expect people not to fall for that sweet-handsome-attractive-Beto Kusyairy on the other line? (Yeah, I want to name my boyfriend Beto Kusyairy haha).

Brrrr, scary! Nasib this app has not reach Brunei yet. Kali

All in all, this app is just wrong in so many ways:
  • You “create” your own dream guy.
  • You can even name him after whomever you like, (for example, you named him Channing Tatum and you will receive texts, calls from “Channing Tatum” in your phone).
  • You pay $25 per month for him (you might say, I spent a lot on my real boyfriend than this-virtual-stranger so why not? Well, I think it’s better to spend on a REAL PERSON and probably be in a REAL RELATIONSHIP).
  • I don’t know what will you get from this, relationships? No. Satisfaction? Probably. Fantasies? Definitely.

In the end, everything was just lies, you don’t have Channing Tatum as your boyfriend, perfect boyfriend does not exist, you fall in love with that stranger even though you insist initially that you wouldn’t and in the real world,

Nothing has changed.

Why don’t you open your eyes, look all around you. Your families, your friends, your cat, that handsome/ beautiful strangers you met at random places, that yummy looking cheesecake… eh?

At least you can save $25 per month for that cake and go on a treat with your families and friends. That is so much better than paying something that is obviously uncertain kan?

Syukur Alhamdulillah for the love that I have now. The love that can’t be replace just by satisfaction over unreal things. This is merely my thought, no discrimination intended or whatsoever.

Now let’s get back to the cheesecake I was talking about.

On-Call Parents

Last Saturday my parents went off to their annual trip getaway. They are still in Kuala Lumpur now, they will be back in a few hours and my parenting job will be done! Phew! Didn’t expect it to be soooo fun.

Let me tell you about my weekdays as a parent. Since I am the eldest, I have the responsibility to act as a parent when both Babu and Babah are not at home.

I woke up at 5:30am, did my Subuh prayer, prepared breakfast (not really, because woohhooo Alhamdulillah! my brother, H Jr. just drank water and probably ate little snacks before school) and at 6:30am off we go to school.

Got home at 7:00am, cleaned up the house, washed piling dishes from last night, did laundry that took at least 2 hours and all done around 10am. Switched on my laptop to check my emails and twitter. I don’t really go on Facebook anymore but if you want to be my friend just add me up haha.

When the clock strikes at 11am, I have another half-an-hour (less than that actually) to be on the Internet, before preparing lunch. At 12pm, off I go to pick up H Jr. from school.

Arrived home at 1pm, we ate lunch and H Jr. has to prep up for Agama School (Agama School: the afternoon class that children has to attend till they’re 14 to learn about our religion, Islam). Arrived school at about 2pm, drove home, cleaned up lunch that we had, performed my prayers – Zuhur and Asr, read books, blogs and whatnot. At 5pm, I have to pick up H Jr. from Agama School.

You might think I am done. BUT NOT! It took me about an hour to argue with H Jr. just to get him to shower! Did my Maghrib prayer and prepare dinner. Dinner is not so hard though because H Jr. eats a lot. He is 10 years old and he weighs more than 50kg. But after that, another debating session – sleep time.

After he sleeps then, just then, I can have my rest.

Wait. No. I need to iron his school uniform for the next day. Aaaaannddd finally, FINALLY, I can get my beautiful sleep. Repeat this for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Eh wait and then I realize I have not done my Isya’ prayer yet. But Alhamdulillah, my days were filled and I don’t feel so jobless anymore. I rather be busy (sometimes) than be bored.

Now I realize why Allah has not given me jodoh to marry yet. I am not ready. It’s just for a week and I’m exhausted. I had fun… really but I don’t think I’m ready. So rather than longing for the perfect husband to come, I better prepare myself to be the perfect wife for him. InsyaAllah.

On a side note, I can’t wait to see what Babu and Babah bought from their trip! (They insisted on saying it’s a honeymoon. But I refuse to say so. #thatclingychild).

Rainy Night

We can’t predict weather. In the morning, the day could be scorching hot but at night, it could be cold and breezy. Anyways, just got back home from accompanying my sister to print jemputan for her engagement.

So here is my outfit for the rainy night. From head to toe, wearing Naelofar instant hijab, Dotti Long-sleeve Shirt, Cotton On Navy Blue Anorak, Favourite Black Jeans and White Nike Roshe. Bag from Bata.

The Anorak is my favourite wear in Sydney because you can't really tell the weather. Been waiting to wear it ever since I got back for good because Brunei is not a seasonal country hahaha. I'm a happy girl now :)

My Love For Sushi

Sushi was believed to have first made in Southeast Asia, with the intention to keep meat fresh without refrigeration. They preserve meat by wrapping the meat and fish in rice and ferment it for several months. When the time has come for them to feast on it, they will discard the rice and let it to… waste? *Cry*

This method then spreads through and reached Japan, where I thought sushi originated. Conversely, Japan has their own ways of fermenting to cut down the time constriction, so they don’t have to wait for months to enjoy the meat.

In the 1800s, chefs started to become more innovative and used raw fish in their sushi and 100 years later, nigiri-sushi was created. (Nigiri-sushi: Raw fish placed on top of shaped rice). Now, there are more than 100 kinds of sushi worldwide! To Yohei Hanaya, thank you for inventing the method and to other chefs, you guys are awesome!

The point is… I HAVE MAJOR LOVE FOR SUSHI! Especially Salmon-based sushi. Be it raw, smoked, cooked to perfection, I will not hesitate even a second to eat it; except those bangas ones. Now let us bear through these pictures.

Warning: Food pictures may cause sudden cravings and leads to frustration if the cravings not fulfilled immediately. I don’t possess a great photography skills (naaawwhh, I was too hungry to take good pictures) and I don’t know the exact name of the dishes hohoho.
