On National Television

I got interviewed for today’s news and I were excited, texted my family members, all of them were set in front of the TV, only to find… I got edited out.

I started a business few months ago and for this week, I attend an event where I get to expose my product. So the “TV” people came to me and asked if they could interview me. Well, I wouldn’t waste an opportunity!

However, little that I know that in this industry, you have to answer the questions based on what people want to hear, NOT YOUR HONEST OPINION. The presenter looked quite surprise with my answers because none of the others mentioned what I said.

Example,

Q: What do you think of this event?

Expected answer: It’s great! We get a lot of exposure, a lot of people came and sales are tremendous. The activities held are very exciting too, which helps a lot as people came to our booth as well.

My answer: It’s fine, but I think people didn’t know about this event or are busy with their bonuses. Hence the slow respond from consumers. The other reason could be the promoter didn’t do much promoting or the event held was not exciting as what it was projected to be.
But all in all, it’s okay. I get to learn new experiences and have fun (?).

Boom. You are not on National TV.

First lesson of the year: If you get interviewed for National TV, review your answer first. Give the answer that they want, not the honest-opinionated-answer.

Told my family the questions and my answers, they were like “no wonder you got edited out”. Wow guys, I didn’t know being honest is an offence. #sorrynotsorry

Year Twenty Sixteen

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016 EVERYONE!

Alhamdulillah for a New Year and May Allah bless this year as much as the past. This year is probably the humblest New Year celebration that we had. My grandmother, Nini Bini just got out from the hospital after two weeks being admitted. No worries, she is fine Alhamdulillah and we had tahlil earlier to thank Allah for another year as well as for everyone’s health, rezeki and whatnot (cough*jodoh*cough).

I pray to Allah may you all be blessed in Dunya and Akhirah, may Allah provide you with rezeki and health to be used properly in His path and may we all be granted Jannah when the time comes. Aamiin

Ps. Finally I get to write in Mr. Toffee starting from today!

Now, what are my resolutions for this year...

Mr. Toffee, the dUCk Planner 2016.

Quite honestly, I was being skeptical whether to get this planner by a well-known brand in Malaysia or not.

First, because I’m afraid the planner would be over-priced (like their scarves *insert monkey covering his mouth emoticon* heehee). Well I mean, different people prefer different types of scarves right? Duckscarves is not for me, wore it once or twice so far and that is why I don’t think it’s worth the price. Others find it worth it because the style suits them and basically, they can afford them! Haha.

Second, because I usually write for about three to four months and then meeehhh, too lazy to update already. So again, I was thinking should I get this planner or not?

Okay… I bought it. Despite of other hundred reasons I could come up with to restrain myself from buying it. I bought it.

Bought this planner at 2:14AM on the 15th December 2015 and it arrived three days later! (Have to love the service from Fashionvalet guys).

So let me share my first duck planner baby, Mr. Toffee.

Oh the joy of unwrapping. (The planner came with an epic box)

A message from D! (The ambassador of @theduckgroup)

Typical me - flipped straight to my birthday month teehee.

It has vouchers guys! Another reason to go to KL wooohooo!

Even the page/planner mark is unique!
Totally my first time seeing a bookmark attached to the bottom, cool feature!

Back pocket is included too!
Useful for those who loves to use other stationery stuff like post-its and whatnot.
Or to keep little snippets of what you find on your 2016 journey.

And not to forget, a few flat-lays will never hurt *wink*

Few other important features would be the hard cover and the paper. The quality is definitely a good one. How do I know? Because I am a sucker for planners, I bought too much than I could write and my all-time favorite is from Kikki.k. Duck planner’s paper is not on the same quality as theirs but it is not bad. I am actually surprised.

Another feature that I forgot to take picture of would be the different task suggested by D for every month. We'll see if I could stick to them!

If you ask whether you should get one… The answer is yes, given that you are going to use it. If not, then it’s not going to be worth it. Same case as my duckscarves issue boohoo.

The duck planner comes in 4 colours:
  •       Mint – for the elegant socialite.
  •       Blush – for the sweet and happy girl.
  •       Lavender – for the romantic soul.
  •       Toffee – for the cool and effortless.

You can go to Fashionvalet’s website to get them or you can go to their offline store in Bangsar, as well as at my favorite stationery store in Kuala Lumpur, Cziplee. (You can google the locations. Sorry, I am sleepy guys.)

Anyway, I wanted to get the Lavender but nope. I am not romantic! *cries* but since I am self-proclaimed the cool type, I ended up getting Toffee.

Can’t wait to start my journey in 2016 with Mr. Toffee, my boyfriend #sadlifeofmissP.

Now, off to sleep.

[Review] Suatu Pernah - Fynn Jamal

I’ve been sitting on the couch, lying on the bed for days. Even weeks. Watching “Suatu Pernah” music video, sung by Fynn Jamal on YouTube. Been watching it over and over in hope to understand the story but all I get is more and more questions.

________________________________________

Well I think we get that part where Sharifah Amani and Zahiril Adzim was once a couple. Through their flashbacks we can see that they loved each other, living their lives but along the way they fought trying to keep their love as their connections, similarities might have been gone. However, they went their separate ways and found ‘love’ with other persons.

Sharifah Amani met Iedil Putra.

Zahiril Adzim met Nadiya Nisaa.

Question 1: Did Amani and Zahiril stay as friends?
Well because in the music video, both of them met again, with their own partners. Unless, all of them are all in the same circle of friends, as all parties seem to know each other.

I guess when they meet again; all those memories came flashing back. Amani couldn’t stop looking at Zahiril and I think he realized that and he went out of the room. He even, couldn’t help to avoid those memories. Amani went out after him and as we all know, we could feel that they miss each other. Forwarding on from that, if you watch the video, I think you knew what happened.

Zahiril’s partner, Nadiya saw what Amani and Zahiril were doing outside. She was shocked and Iedil came, probably thinking what was Nadiya doing by the window. He saw what Nadiya saw. She ran out and bawled her heart out. Iedil came running after her.

Question 2: Why did Iedil run after Nadiya?
Shouldn’t he run towards Amani, his partner? Like if I were him, I would’ve caught Amani and Zahiril, like how dare both of you cheated on us?

But instead, he came running towards Nadiya and tried to calm her down.

Now came the interesting, the most complicated part to decipher about this music video.

Question 3: What did Iedil actually say to calm Nadiya down?
What was their story?

They all went back in, resuming what they were doing. Amani and Zahiril were there too, stealing stares at each other. But now, even Nadiya and Iedil did the same thing with each other.

Question 4: Okay, why all the sudden cryptic smiles and what not?

The party was out and the last to go home were Zahiril and Nadiya. While Iedil was clearing up the table - that was what I assume - he found Zahiril’s wallet and he passed it to Amani who was still by the stairs looking at Zahiril and Nadiya, walking down.

Question 5: Why didn’t Iedil just passed the wallet himself?
I guess because Zahiril stayed friends with Amani.

Amani then rushed down to give the wallet back to Zahiril. At the same moment, one of the pendant that they both have, had dropped on the floor.

Question 6: Has the pendant been in the wallet all along?
Or it was from Amani's necklace? Dropped after she ran down?

Amani picked it up and with a long contemplation; she gave it back to Zahiril. And Nadiya smiled at the bottom of the stairs.

Question 7: What is the meaning behind that smile?!

The most asked question where loads of people must have been wondering about.
________________________________________

There are lots of perception that I read from comments on Fynn Jamal’s YouTube and Instagram. There is no right or wrong interpretation because a masterpiece like this is up for anyone to judge and make his or her own rendition of the story.

However, I would still love to know the real story and message that the music video wants to convey. Why? Because… only by then, our curiosity will rest in peace.

Fynn Jamal is a Malaysian indie musician, a beautiful writer and a soulful singer. Suatu Pernah is definitely a masterpiece that touches many. The story does not have to be the same as portrayed on the screen but to me, all of us have our own version of Suatu Pernah.

I can't stress this enough but what a masterpiece. Kudos to all the people involved, Fynn Jamal for the awesome music and lyrics, Sharifah Amani for directing this marvellous gem and what an awesome line-ups too, surprisingly all are my favourites especially the main casts; Sharifah Amani, Zahiril Adzim, Iedil Putra and Nadiya Nisaa, you guys are just magical.

Okay, they won't be reading this but this is my blog so I can write about what I want wheeeeee!

Oh and as a look out, Amani wore the pendant throughout the party.

Last question: Is that to tell the others about her feelings?
