Mr. Toffee, the dUCk Planner 2016.

Quite honestly, I was being skeptical whether to get this planner by a well-known brand in Malaysia or not.

First, because I’m afraid the planner would be over-priced (like their scarves *insert monkey covering his mouth emoticon* heehee). Well I mean, different people prefer different types of scarves right? Duckscarves is not for me, wore it once or twice so far and that is why I don’t think it’s worth the price. Others find it worth it because the style suits them and basically, they can afford them! Haha.

Second, because I usually write for about three to four months and then meeehhh, too lazy to update already. So again, I was thinking should I get this planner or not?

Okay… I bought it. Despite of other hundred reasons I could come up with to restrain myself from buying it. I bought it.

Bought this planner at 2:14AM on the 15th December 2015 and it arrived three days later! (Have to love the service from Fashionvalet guys).

So let me share my first duck planner baby, Mr. Toffee.

Oh the joy of unwrapping. (The planner came with an epic box)

A message from D! (The ambassador of @theduckgroup)

Typical me - flipped straight to my birthday month teehee.

It has vouchers guys! Another reason to go to KL wooohooo!

Even the page/planner mark is unique!
Totally my first time seeing a bookmark attached to the bottom, cool feature!

Back pocket is included too!
Useful for those who loves to use other stationery stuff like post-its and whatnot.
Or to keep little snippets of what you find on your 2016 journey.

And not to forget, a few flat-lays will never hurt *wink*

Few other important features would be the hard cover and the paper. The quality is definitely a good one. How do I know? Because I am a sucker for planners, I bought too much than I could write and my all-time favorite is from Kikki.k. Duck planner’s paper is not on the same quality as theirs but it is not bad. I am actually surprised.

Another feature that I forgot to take picture of would be the different task suggested by D for every month. We'll see if I could stick to them!

If you ask whether you should get one… The answer is yes, given that you are going to use it. If not, then it’s not going to be worth it. Same case as my duckscarves issue boohoo.

The duck planner comes in 4 colours:
  •       Mint – for the elegant socialite.
  •       Blush – for the sweet and happy girl.
  •       Lavender – for the romantic soul.
  •       Toffee – for the cool and effortless.

You can go to Fashionvalet’s website to get them or you can go to their offline store in Bangsar, as well as at my favorite stationery store in Kuala Lumpur, Cziplee. (You can google the locations. Sorry, I am sleepy guys.)

Anyway, I wanted to get the Lavender but nope. I am not romantic! *cries* but since I am self-proclaimed the cool type, I ended up getting Toffee.

Can’t wait to start my journey in 2016 with Mr. Toffee, my boyfriend #sadlifeofmissP.

Now, off to sleep.

[Review] Suatu Pernah - Fynn Jamal

I’ve been sitting on the couch, lying on the bed for days. Even weeks. Watching “Suatu Pernah” music video, sung by Fynn Jamal on YouTube. Been watching it over and over in hope to understand the story but all I get is more and more questions.

________________________________________

Well I think we get that part where Sharifah Amani and Zahiril Adzim was once a couple. Through their flashbacks we can see that they loved each other, living their lives but along the way they fought trying to keep their love as their connections, similarities might have been gone. However, they went their separate ways and found ‘love’ with other persons.

Sharifah Amani met Iedil Putra.

Zahiril Adzim met Nadiya Nisaa.

Question 1: Did Amani and Zahiril stay as friends?
Well because in the music video, both of them met again, with their own partners. Unless, all of them are all in the same circle of friends, as all parties seem to know each other.

I guess when they meet again; all those memories came flashing back. Amani couldn’t stop looking at Zahiril and I think he realized that and he went out of the room. He even, couldn’t help to avoid those memories. Amani went out after him and as we all know, we could feel that they miss each other. Forwarding on from that, if you watch the video, I think you knew what happened.

Zahiril’s partner, Nadiya saw what Amani and Zahiril were doing outside. She was shocked and Iedil came, probably thinking what was Nadiya doing by the window. He saw what Nadiya saw. She ran out and bawled her heart out. Iedil came running after her.

Question 2: Why did Iedil run after Nadiya?
Shouldn’t he run towards Amani, his partner? Like if I were him, I would’ve caught Amani and Zahiril, like how dare both of you cheated on us?

But instead, he came running towards Nadiya and tried to calm her down.

Now came the interesting, the most complicated part to decipher about this music video.

Question 3: What did Iedil actually say to calm Nadiya down?
What was their story?

They all went back in, resuming what they were doing. Amani and Zahiril were there too, stealing stares at each other. But now, even Nadiya and Iedil did the same thing with each other.

Question 4: Okay, why all the sudden cryptic smiles and what not?

The party was out and the last to go home were Zahiril and Nadiya. While Iedil was clearing up the table - that was what I assume - he found Zahiril’s wallet and he passed it to Amani who was still by the stairs looking at Zahiril and Nadiya, walking down.

Question 5: Why didn’t Iedil just passed the wallet himself?
I guess because Zahiril stayed friends with Amani.

Amani then rushed down to give the wallet back to Zahiril. At the same moment, one of the pendant that they both have, had dropped on the floor.

Question 6: Has the pendant been in the wallet all along?
Or it was from Amani's necklace? Dropped after she ran down?

Amani picked it up and with a long contemplation; she gave it back to Zahiril. And Nadiya smiled at the bottom of the stairs.

Question 7: What is the meaning behind that smile?!

The most asked question where loads of people must have been wondering about.
________________________________________

There are lots of perception that I read from comments on Fynn Jamal’s YouTube and Instagram. There is no right or wrong interpretation because a masterpiece like this is up for anyone to judge and make his or her own rendition of the story.

However, I would still love to know the real story and message that the music video wants to convey. Why? Because… only by then, our curiosity will rest in peace.

Fynn Jamal is a Malaysian indie musician, a beautiful writer and a soulful singer. Suatu Pernah is definitely a masterpiece that touches many. The story does not have to be the same as portrayed on the screen but to me, all of us have our own version of Suatu Pernah.

I can't stress this enough but what a masterpiece. Kudos to all the people involved, Fynn Jamal for the awesome music and lyrics, Sharifah Amani for directing this marvellous gem and what an awesome line-ups too, surprisingly all are my favourites especially the main casts; Sharifah Amani, Zahiril Adzim, Iedil Putra and Nadiya Nisaa, you guys are just magical.

Okay, they won't be reading this but this is my blog so I can write about what I want wheeeeee!

Oh and as a look out, Amani wore the pendant throughout the party.

Last question: Is that to tell the others about her feelings?

The Cocoa Brown Box

3rd April 2015

While browsing through Instagram, I saw @krispy_puff posted up a photo telling their followers that they will be at UBD on the next day, selling their yummy cream puffs.

I decided to flood my friend’s – WW – whatsapp, asking her if she could help me get them. I need her help because she is one of my few friends that is still studying in UBD. Aaaannddd I was already injured.

4th April 2015

Still flooding her whatsapp, reminding her to get those cream puffs.

The puffs were sold out in the next half-an-hour after they opened, she failed. MY FRIEND FAILED. She was just a step late to get them for me! *CRYYYYYY*

Not literally but I was dying (kidding!) to taste the crispiness of those cream puffs. I was super-determined guys, if not I would not be flooding WW with texts. Sorry to trouble you girl!

5th April 2015

Decided to text @krispy_puff. No reply.

15th April 2015

I texted them again, by any chance they forgot to get back to me. Still, I got no reply. I gave up.

18th April 2015

They texted me! But time was not on my side. I went to Miri that day and there was no way I could get them. I told them if they could text me their next open order in the near future… but again, they never texted back.

_______________________________________

Long story short, I give up and never got the chance to taste those krispy puffs.

HOWEVER –

Miracle did happen! On 7th of May 2015, a beautiful soul came to my house and left this @kripsy_puff box on the table in my kitchen! I am so touched that I almost cry! She also left me a note,

No name but I still recognize your handwriting, A!

Krispy_Puff Box right there, in Cocoa Brown.

To my dear friend, AA, you made my day. You may not know the story about my krispy puff cravings but Allah knows and HE inspired you to get me those puffs. May Allah bless you love!

To think of it now… I feel bad. Because when she came, I was in my room, resting… or sleeping actually. She didn’t text me beforehand that she’s coming and now I feel bad L but isn’t she sweet?

Isn’t Allah sweet?

If anyone is interested to try the cream puffs, just head on to their instagram @krispy_puff. But let me just say…
LOOK AT THAT!

AND THAT!

The puffs are long gone now and to be honest, I’m not a big fan of sweet refreshments but these little ones are worth the try. They come in 6 flavors,

The Milk Custard is the winner! The rest are not bad too but I have not tried the White Chocolate. Probably another reason to get another box?

If only they would reply to my texts.

Becky To The Stars

Alhamdulillah, it’s the end of March already! Can’t really relate how fast time flies nowadays. I am still unemployed. Ya Allah, please give me rezeki in finding job (and a good husband heehee). Oh and I'll be off to Kuala Lumpur soon! (Okay, what should I pray on the plane? What? Doa musafir makbul okay!)

Anyways, February was awesome. I remember that the Fam organized a birthday gathering for my Grandpop and few others, went for a road trip to KB with my Aussie-mates, went to get nasi katok at midnight with my sister and did watching “Kingsman: The Secret Service” counts? DEFINITELY YES! (Taron Egerton and Colin Firth <3)

I just finished reading the latest Shopaholic Series: Shopaholic to the Stars. It took me about three months to finish it and I don’t expect it took that long to end this book! Like whaaattt, it usually took me on average 4 days or a week at most to finish a book! Plus, it’s the Shopaholic Series! I started to wonder why.

Okay, probably because of:

  1. I am tired of the chaos made by Becky.
  2. It’s exhausting to read about her dramas. Like why can’t you just lead a normal life? Can you just shut your thoughts and actually listen to others? (But then I think it’s ridiculous because this book is about Becky)
  3. I am just tired of Becky.
  4. And Probably those Hollywood artists too.
  5. And what’s up with her dad really!

Don’t get me wrong. I love Becky. However this latest book is just so tiring. With all her drama and stuff. It’s all about her! Yeah, yeah, she’s the shopaholic one here and this book is supposed to focus on her but as I said, it’s tiring when she just do what she think is right without consulting with others, especially her husband, Luke. Poor chap.

I know its not like Becky is a real life person that she has to lead a normal life. Obviously, she is a fiction and she is free to do what she wants. I lose interest in reading the early chapters but the pace goes back up at about chapter 16. But I think I’ve read too much action/thriller novels before reading this book. Where these novels’ are different in pace as they can even have a climax at the start. (Refer Maze Runner, Chapter 1). They keep us thinking in each and every chapter, from the start to finish. Though some does not have a great ending.

However, I can’t believe I am saying this (after all the dislikes that I had on this book), I can’t wait for the next series to come out. Oh please, I am not the only one who’s dying (not literally) to know what’s up with Becky’s Dad! And the only thing that stuck on my mind after reading the book is “We are all called Rebecca” and why is that? That girl should’ve just said something! Sheesh! (Refer Chapter 21, pages 359-360, according to the edition shown below).

On an extra note, Sophie did a free short story for her Shopaholic fans! Did you ever wonder how Becky and Luke’s honeymoon would be like? If you feel like reading their honeymoon story, head on to the link below and enjoy!
